1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing and using TropicalInfo.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of service
TropicalInfo.com provides real-time tropical weather tracking, storm alerts, and related meteorological information. We aggregate data from official sources including the National Hurricane Center and provide analysis tools for monitoring tropical weather systems.
3. User accounts
To access certain features you must register for an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain the security of your password and account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
- Be responsible for all activities under your account
4. Subscription plans
We offer multiple subscription tiers:
- Free — basic storm tracking, 1 alert location
- Basic ($20/year or $3/month) — enhanced tracking and email/SMS alerts
- Advanced ($35/year or $6/month) — model consensus, location-specific summaries
- Professional ($50/year or $10/month) — API access, raw ATCF feeds, priority support
Subscription fees are billed monthly or annually depending on your plan and are non-refundable. You may cancel at any time and you'll keep paid access through the end of your paid period.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Scrape or harvest data without permission
- Resell or redistribute our data without a commercial license
- Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
6. API usage
API access is available only to Professional tier subscribers, subject to rate limits, proper attribution when displaying our data, compliance with our API documentation, and no sharing of API keys with third parties.
7. Intellectual property
All content on TropicalInfo.com — text, graphics, logos, software — is our property or that of our content suppliers and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Weather data sourced from the National Hurricane Center remains in the public domain.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
IMPORTANT: Weather information should not be your sole source for safety decisions. Always follow official evacuation orders and emergency management guidance.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TROPICALINFO.COM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for accessing the Service during the twelve months prior to the claim.
10. Changes to terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
